The Gratitude Campaign
Being a solider in any war, no matter what side you are on is difficult and it can be a very lonely place to be. I can not even begin to image what our US Troops must be going through and what gambit of emotions they are feeling, being in battle zone everyday and the thought of, to kill or be killed running in the back of their mind.
I do not care what others think or say. But I say this, thank you. Thank you for stepping forward and protecting our ways of life. I may not agree with ever aspect of our governments policies. But, I am thankful to be in a Country that allows me to speak my truth and allows me to express my freedom of religion and spirituality. I know that freedom is not FREE!!! But I also know that Peace is never achieved with war.
I'm proud to be a USA Citizen... I stand behind our troops and my country.

IZ was wonderful singer and advocate for the Hawaiian youth movement and reminder to the Hawaiian people to never forget their culture.
Ho'oponopono song
I love Ho'oponopono such a power Hawaiian mantra. It has changed my life. To hear in a song is wonderful.

Good bye Tuttle park rec center! :(
Well the city of Columbus closed down several rec centers, due to budget cuts. On Feb 21. Tuttle park staff held a thank you to the community party from 6pm - 9pm. We all said good by to the place that gave so much to us all. I grew up playing sports and making crafts in that center.
I sure will miss it. Here are some photos I want to share with all of you. Most of these folks worked very hard to make this a great place for the community.
I'm not sure what will happen to most of them? Knowing them, they should be okay. My biggest concern are the kids in the neighborhood.

Leatherlips - Legendary Wyandot Chief
My morning walk with nature...
My mornings are like most peoples. Feed my kids and drop them off at school and breath a sigh of relief when that part is complete and say now my day is off to a good start. Do not get me wrong I love my kids, best blessing ever. If you're a parent your free time from your family is very special.
My favorite place in the whole world is Tuttle park. In the spring, summer and fall. I walk the trails like I did as a kid after getting out of school, I would go exploring the woods and fish along the Olentangy river. But, after time life has a way of taking over and being a kid starts to fade as we grow older and we get get caught in the hustle and bustle of life and the illusion of time.
I started walking again after having major surgery about 4 years ago. I almost transitioned! But looks like God has bigger plans for me. I needed to take better care of my body and soul...
Every morning is a new story unfolding, the woods has so much to teach and I have so much to learn from her.
This particular morning was different then others. I usually go alone. But I asked Rosa my sister to join me. We talked about the trees and the energies, we could feel around us the power of our majestic old friends the trees. We decided that we were going to hug trees and get grounded.
The little bird was not scared at all. I first thought it might be hurt. but it looked at us and almost looked like it was grinning (I know birds do not have lips).
I picked it up and put it in my hat. The bird looked up at me as to say thanks for the lift buddy. I was wearing yellow, so I might had looked like a big fat bird or a gum drop to it.
We walked about 25 feet and my new friend decided he/she had enough and flew away into the tall grass.
Rosa and I looked at each other and smiled and commented on how cool that was to be so close to nature and to be allowed to share that moment.
I never saw my new friend again and have not seen that type of bird again.

On our way to my favorite spot I spotted a little tanish bird with the most beautiful yellow tips I had seen.

New Years Eve party at Garcia's 2008
News eve party at Garcia's was a blast!!! That's me with my wife Suzi. It was great to be with my friends and family. We had pot luck and and music and danced 2008 out of our systems and we danced hard to bring in the 2009 with a bang.
We all have so many hopes and dreams we want to fulfill in 2009. I know that we will be successful and what ever we put our minds to. Enjoy the pics and tomorrow we have a New Years day sweat and I will talk to you then.
Dante and Nicole dancing salsa. They had fun from what I can see... Dante your hands are to low. Watch out man... ;)
Dante was a dancing machine all night long!!!
looks my Dad got into the action! he is the one in the yellow sweater.
I gave the toast for the coming years and a prayer and thanks all my friends and family and God for allowing us that moment in time together.
Rachel drumming with her friends.
